I've included these videos as inspiration as i was thinking of what i could do to improve my film and make it more scary, then i remembered this scene from the first resident evil game.
First Zombie Scene
This is one of the scariest moments in gaming history (if you ask any gamer thats played the game they'll agree) and even though i was only about 3 when i first saw this scene, it literally haunted me for half my life.
First Zombie Scene Remade
When i then went to play the ReMake of Resident Evil, and got to the room just before this cinematic, i honestly could not bring myself to go through the door because i knew this was waiting on the other side.
I think it would be really effective i've i could also create such a scene that scares the audience half to death, and that scene becomes the most remembered part about it.
If you're going for a classic horror theme for the opening, you should probably take a look at the actual opening cinematics for the Resident Evil games, especially the first one (which relies less on cars exploding and special effects, and more on lighting and clever use of camera work) which was mostly live action as well.

While this cutscene in RE was chilling, especially back in the day, it was only made as such because it was led up to. It's a part of the main content of the game, rather than the opening section, even though it is the first encounter with a zombie that the player has.
Further back in my blog i have got the opening scenes to the game (at the very start of my blog i think) I can see what point your making however though and i appreciate the help.
